UX/UI Design

Whilst user centred design is a process used across all of my projects, some projects have had a UX/UI design focus, allowing these skills to be showcased further. Methods such as layout analysis, storyboarding and empathy studies have been implemented across these projects and shown below.

Layout Analysis

For a group project working on the design of a coffee quad-cycle vendor van, I was working on the vending area of the team, primarily focusing on the customers interaction and baristas interaction with the van. This involved considering the workflow of the design and the positioning of goods, machines and accessible storage for the users of the van.

Storyboarding

This project focused on the design of a interactive dinosaur VR system for a museum exhibit. The system had to be understandable to users whether they had used VR or not. The experience had to be long enough for educational purposes but short enough as not to bore the user. The experience also had to include an interactive quiz at the end. The storyboarding shown is both from initial concepts (created using Sketchbook) and from the final design (created using Figma).

Empathy Studies

The empathy studies show are from 2 different projects. The first from an assistive devices project, focusing on the redesign of a cheese grater and garlic crusher for those with arthritis. The second is from my on going major project looking at the design of an AED for use in sports medical bags.
